This California Residential Sublease Agreement allows for an existing tenant (with landlord approval) to rent out their residential dwelling unit to another person for the remaining term of their tenancy. It is advised that the current tenant perform a thorough tenant screening of the prospective subtenant before entering into a sublease agreement. A sublease does not absolve the original tenant from making sure the rental property is properly maintained and paid on time.
